In short

  • This month (October 2026): the County Fall Festival at Big Rock on October 3, the Caribou Fall Arts & Crafts Festival October 17–18, moose and deer seasons. See the October guide.
  • Coming this winter: snowmobile trails usually open in late December, and the Can-Am Crown sled dog races start in Fort Kent in late February or early March.
  • Where to stay near Eagle Lake: Eagles Landing Lakeside Cottages, five lakefront cabins 25 minutes from Fort Kent with snowmobile and ATV trail access from the property.
  • Crossing into Canada: Edmundston is about an hour away. Bring a passport or other border-approved ID; New Brunswick is an hour ahead.

How we keep this list

We check events against the organizer, venue, town or state agency, and against Visit Aroostook, the county's tourism office. We don't list anything we can't source, and every card says where its date came from. The list is refreshed on the first of each month: past events come off, new ones go on, and "not announced" dates are replaced as organizers post them.
